Although 99% of our business is solid European White Oak, we also supply a range of other woods:
Maple
Maple has a unique character and a naturally light colour. It is quite densely-grained with rich, consistent colour and few imperfections. Maple is dense, strong, remarkably hard and extremely durable.
Hornbeam is a white wood with attractive flecks and swirls in its grain. It has a beautiful smooth finish, often compared to ivory. It is very dense and resistant to wear.
Elm is a charmingly warm brown coloured wood, with a high grain and distinctive patterns. The stepped pattern of Elm’s fibres make it very resistant to splitting.
Ash
This creamy white to light brown wood has a light sapwood, sometimes streaked with a light brown fleck. Ash is very hard and strong, with a pronounced grain that allows it to be finished to a high lustre.
Beech is straight-grained with a fine, uniform texture. There is often a moderate to high colour variation between boards. Beech wears well and stays smooth when subjected to repeated friction. The wood is hard and elastic, with excellent shock-resistance.
As with our Oak flooring range, our other solid wood planks are supplied in two thicknesses for domestic and structural use, and are available in a variety of widths and lengths to suit your requirements.
The wood is all carefully selected from sustainable sources, kiln-dried, Tongue and Grooved on all 4 sides with stress grooves underneath.
The planks have a micro-bevel for easy installation and require minimal sanding, as opposed to square edge boards that need several passes with a large flooring sander.
We also supply all the finishes and adhesives you require for your finished solid hardwood floor. Contact us to place your order today!
